The Intestine is a channel through which food passes.
• Small intestine primarily absorb nutrients from the food as it passes it.
• Large intestine is concentrated with feces which are finally expelled from the body through the anus.
Effects of the Speed with which Food Travels through the Intestine
Most common intestinal disorders are related to the speed with which food travels through The Intestine:
1) Too rapidly results in Diarrhea which deny the body of mineral salts, other nutrients that the body does not absorb and consequent loss of Water.
2) Too slowly results in Constipation which produce toxic substances absorbable into the blood resulting in a state of auto-intoxication in the body.
To avoid all these intestinal disorders is to increase your fiber intake:
• Eat Whole Grains bread instead of white bread.
• Eat Fruit with all of its pulp instead of drinking Fruit juice.
• Increase the consumption of legumes and Vegetables.
• Consume bran or other Fiber-rich supplements
