Activated Charcoal

Scientific Name: ()

activated carbon

Activated Charcoal and regular charcoal are almost identical, where the only difference is that Activated Charcoal has been created solely for medicinal use, by heating regular charcoal with a gas that causes the charcoal to expand, creating a porous surface that traps toxins.

• Charcoal (or charred wood) is formed when wood is heated in the absence of air.
• Charcoal has the unique ability to adsorb or remove Poisonous gases, drugs, toxic chemicals, infectious bacteria, and viruses.

Directions of Preparation

Charcoal Poultice Process :

1) Make charcoal (the main problem is the temperature [between 900 and 1400 degrees Farenheit] at which you make the charcoal from wood).

2) Powder the charcoal (You need the smallest pieces charcoal you can get).

3) Make a 25% solution (by weight) of Calcium Chloride or Zinc Chloride. Calcium Chloride or Zinc Chloride is widely available and generally considered non-toxic, so it’s safe to handle. Weigh 3 parts (300ml) of water and mix in 1 part (100ml) Calcium Chloride or Zinc Chloride.

4) Make a paste with the Calcium Chloride solution and the powdered charcoal.

5) Spread the paste to dry.

6) Rinse with clean water.

7) Bake at 225 degrees Farenheit for 30 minutes.

Directions for preparing a Charcoal Poultice :

1. Mix the charcoal powder into a little water until the mixture has the consistency of a paste.& nbsp;

2. Ground Flaxseed or CornStarch may be added to the charcoal mixture to keep the poultice from becoming too dry. Mix 1-3 large spoonfuls of charcoal powder with 3 large spoonfuls of ground Flaxseed (or 2 large spoonfuls of CornStarch) to a cup of boiling water.

3. Spread the charcoal paste on one half of a cloth or paper towel. Fold the other half of the cloth or paper towel over the charcoal paste.

4. Place the poultice on top of the affected Skin area.

5. Cover the entire poultice with a piece of plastic to keep it from drying out.

• The plastic cover keeps the poultice from becoming too dry.
• The edges of the poultice may be folded or taped to keep it in place.

Recommended Dosage

1) Oral – Charcoal has no toxic effects. Use charcoal as much as needed and as often as it is needed.

1) Carefully stir 1-2 large spoonfuls (tablespoons) of charcoal powder into a small amount of water and fill the glass with additional water.
