Thick Eye Coating (Scab) is a dry, rough protective crust that forms over a cut or wound during healing. Scabs are protective crusts of dried blood clots that form over wounds as a result of scrapes, acne, an allergic reaction, or another illness. It allows the body to protect itself from viruses and bacteria that may enter through an open wound.
Scabbing is a natural reaction. Its best to avoid scratching scabs open, as this can lead to more bleeding, increase the chance of infection, and may increase the likelihood that a scar will remain after the wound itself has healed.

Home Remedies for Scab (Thick Eye Coating)
• Avoid scratching or picking the scab.
• Use oil-free moisturizer as moisturizing the scab can help the healing process.
• Keep it clean.
• Sun can be damaging to Skin, so applying sunscreen before going outside.
• Using a warm, damp compress can help stimulate blood flow to the scab and surrounding area.
• Use Anti-Biotic creams.
• Use Greater Celandine juice (Greater Celandine soaked in Rye whisky or vodka for 10 days).
• Prepare a mixture of 1 tablespoon each of sour cream, Plain Yogurt, ground Oatmeal and few drops of Lemon juice and blend thoroughly, then apply the paste onto the face for 10 minutes and wash it off repeating 4 times in a day as a very effective remedy for the scar due to pimples. Use low fat sour cream if you have an oily Skin.
• Fuller’s earth pack is an effective remedy for curing burnt Skin or other old scars. Prepare a paste by taking 2 teaspoon of each of fuller’s earth and Lemon juice, add little amount of Rose Water (or Water), then apply the paste over the effected area and allow it to dry for 10-15 minutes. wash the Skin using cold Water, then apply the paste 1-2 times a day, till the scar is not removed completely.

• African Nightshade – The whole plant is Diaphoretic (increases Sweating) and emollient/moisturizes (increase the Skin‘s hydration by reducing evaporation).
• Almond Oil – Almond Oil is also used for removing Skin cars. Apply and gently massage the effected area with the oil.
• Banana – Mash ripe Banana and apply over the effected Skin, allow it to dry for 5-7 minutes, then wash it off.
• Cassava – Cassava flour may be used to help dry weeping Skin.

• Acacia Concinna – Its beneficial for Skin ailments and advantageous in curing Skin diseases, rashes, cuts, Bruises. Boil 1 tsp Acacia Concinna powder in 1 cup Water. Cool it and apply on the Skin for Skin diseases.
• Aloe Vera – Aloe Vera is another easy home remedy for the treatment of residual scars. Its juice is applied over the scars, which slowly reduce and vanish. Mix Aloe Vera paste with the powder of Vitamin E capsules and rub it onto the scar several times a day.
